The Hai Su Trang and Hai Su Den fields (HST/HSD) were discovered within Block 15-2/01, on the western edge of Vietnam's prolific Cuu Long Basin. The fields consist of oil and associated gas, held in a combination of Miocene and Oligocene clastics, and granite basement reservoirs. The fields have been developed via two small wellhead platforms (WHPs) tied back to the Te Giac Trang (TGT) floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, operated by the Hoang Long Joint Operating Company

The Te Giac Trang (White Rhinoceros) oilfield lies in block 16-1 of the Cuu Long Basin of the South China Sea, offshore Vietnam. The field lies at a water depth of 148ft (45m).

The field is operated by Hoang Long Joint Operating Company (JOC), a partnership formed between PetroVietnam (41%), Soco International (28.5%), PTT Exploration and Production (28.5%) and OPECO Vietnam (2%).

Refinery Facility Expansion

Located in Quang Ngai central province of Vietnam, Dung Quat Refinery plant was the first Petrochemical complex built in Vietnam. The Plant went into operation in early 2009 with designed capacity of 6.5 million tons of crude oil annually.

To leverage existing infrastructure, plan to upgrade its capacity to add extra 2 million tons of crude oil per year is being assessed.

New Built Petrochemical Complex

Nghi Son Refinery is the second oil refinery in Vietnam. Construction began on 23 October 2013, and refinery operations began in 2017. Planned capacity is 200,000 barrels per day (32,000 m3/d).

Nghi Son refinery has a designed capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil per year with possibility to increase the capacity to 20 million tons. The refinery project will also include petrochemical complex, energy facilities, pipeline and storage systems. In addition to LPG, unleaded gasoline, kerosenejet fuel, diesel and FO, the refinery is projected to produce bitumenpropylene and BTX as a raw material for the petrochemical industry
